日本各地出现了袭击人类的神秘生物，京王理科大学的医学教授番场宗介对此十分感兴趣，于是前往神秘生物出现的区域调查真相。随着调查的深入，番场宗介发现这一系列生物袭人事件的背后似乎隐藏着更大的阴谋……。Inspired by W.G. Sebald’s book and based on WWII archive footage, the film puts forward the question: is it morally acceptable to use civilian population as a means of war?
