二战时期，美军的第八空袭部队在与德军长期交战后损失惨重，全队的气势和斗志都已耗尽，但紧张的战况却不容许他们有半点的松懈。于是，总部派来了新的指挥官弗兰克（格里高利·派克 饰）来接管这批队伍，希望能重振旗鼓。弗兰克面对的任务是极其艰难的，但是他坚定的意志、不凡的气度和顽强的抵抗精神深深地感染了部队的每一位成员，最终他们作出的贡献远远超过了一支队伍的标准。。Two young men (Jon Cryer, Rick Stear) who have been friends since early childhood decide to go on a trip to find a third friend (Rafael Baez) who has long since disappeared. Stories they have heard indicate that the friend has been seen in an apparently rambling, incoherent state at Coney Island. Their trip leads them to a number of adventures involving the otherworld-like life...。
